Jacobs Engineering Group has awarded Hill International a subcontract for construction management services on the repair of the Canarsie Tunnel in New York, Metro Report International says.

Announcing the award on May 31, Hill International said that the five-year contract is worth $5 to $8 million. Hill will assist Jacobs with pre-construction and construction management.

New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority is undertaking repairs to the tunnel, which carries the Subway L Line under the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn, following damage sustained from flooding caused by Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
