The Building Contractors Association of New York (BCA-NY), which represents unionized contractors, is joining forces with the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGCNYS).

The partnership will “bolster construction industry efforts in New York City,” the two groups said in a statement.

The collaborative agreement allows access to AGCNYS safety programs, events and proprietary education programs for BCA-NY members. BCA-NY members will be able to participate in AGCNYS events, safety programs and education programs.

BCANY’s chair and managing director will also join the AGCNYS Building Board of Governors.

“As a longtime member and now officer of both of these distinguished industry organizations, I am excited about the significant potential this forward-thinking partnership brings not only for the associations, but most importantly, their members,” said Howard Rowland, president of Plainview-based E.W. Howell. Howell is AGCNYS chairman and BCANY vice-president. “Working together and united, AGCNYS and BCA-NY will be stronger, smarter and bolder—and the firms they represent will benefit.”
