NextEra Energy Transmission New York will begin construction on a 20-mile power line in Niagara and Erie counties next month.
Work will start as soon as March 2 on the $180-million project to build an additional line to carry electricity generated at the Niagara Power Project and power imported from Canada, reports Buffalo News.
The state Department of Public Service is reviewing the company’s application for final permission to start construction on the line.
The project, called Empire State Line, is expected to be completed by June 2022.
