International Concrete Repair Institute to host fall convention

Professionals in the concrete repair industry will come together for a three-day event as the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) will host its 2016 Fall Convention. Held from Wednesday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 11 in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Westin Cleveland Downtown, the convention theme is “Urban Reconstruction” and will focus on expanding attendees’ understanding of the industry and urban reconstruction.

A series of 18 technical presentations will enable attendees to learn more about concrete repair with sessions from some of the most knowledgeable minds in the industry. The sessions will focus on the theme of “Urban Reconstruction” as ICRI members from around the world join leading experts in the concrete repair industry for cutting edge presentations, including:

  • Restoration: The Ultimate Act of Sustainability
  • Salvage: When Repair is Not an Option
  • Vapor Abrasive Blasting
  • Pneumatically Applied Concrete Repairs for Urban Reconstruction
  • Floor-to-Floor Slab Replacement: Case Study
  • Flood Impact on Unbonded Post-Tensioned Structures
  • Concrete Repair Code and Guide

The technical sessions schedule spans all three days of the convention, and will allow attendees to earn up to 12 Professional Development Hours.

There will be a keynote address from Jason Goldberg, a successful entrepreneur who speaks to companies and associations about best practices to immediately become a self-leader at work. ICRI is also set to hold its 24th annual Project Awards Celebration, as it honors project teams who have orchestrated exemplary projects in the concrete repair industry over the past year.

“Concrete repair in urban environments is one of the most crucial aspects of the concrete repair industry, and we are thrilled to offer such a comprehensive set of educational sessions to our membership” said  ICRI president Keith Harrison. “The 2016 Fall Convention will allow ICRI members to remain on the cutting edge of quality, durability and strength when it comes to their work.”

Before the convention on Monday, Nov. 7 and Tuesday, Nov. 8 as ICRI offers the Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician Certification Program in the Cleveland area, minutes from the ICRI convention hotel.
