Kingston seeking $10 million in grants for construction projects

Kingston Common Council has approved seeking roughly $10 million in grants to help fund eight projects.

Daily Freeman reports that the money is required for making improvements to the property around Dietz Stadium, construction of a portion of the Kingston Point Rail Trail and improvements to Academy Green.

Following the move, the city will apply for grants through the state’s Consolidated Funding Application program. The applications are due July 26 and require council approval to be submitted.

The city would seek $4 million in grants to complete improvements at Dietz Stadium. The money will be spent on improving the exterior of the stadium, including upgrades to the parking lot area.
