A report from Dodge Data & Analytics shows that the number of New York-area residential construction starts plunged in July, reports Long Island Business News.
There were nearly $3.44 billion in construction starts in the New York area in July, representing a 33% decrease compared to $5.15 billion in construction starts in July 2018, according to the report.
There was $1.41 billion in residential building starts in July, down 47% from $2.68 billion in July 2018. Whereas, nonresidential building starts were $2.02 billion in July, an 18% decrease from $2.47 billion a year ago.
