Work begins on $16 million waterfront renovation in Oswego

Construction has started on a $16 million waterfront renovation project in Oswego.

Work is happening at Breitbeck Park, Wright’s Landing and the International Pier, OswegoCountyNewsNow.com reports.

The $16 million investment comprises three total projects. Construction is underway and is expected to last through July 2021.

The Breitbeck Park project calls for large rip-rap stones and additional landscaping along the bottom of the park and the Harbor Trail.

For Wright’s Landing Marina, the ground surface will be elevated by two feet to prevent future flooding and the project includes a new pavilion, a new welcome center, full renovations of restroom facilities, implements ADA accessible access throughout the marina, a new pavilion and more firepit and seating areas.

Meanwhile, a $6.5 million investment will be made to the International Pier to transform the pier into a pedestrian oriented boardwalk pier.
