Construction has reached its highest point on Las Raices East Harlem, a four-building, 78-unit affordable housing development along Manhattan’s Park Avenue Corridor. The project, a partnership between Lettire Construction, MDG Real Estate Partners, LLC, and the Las Raices Community Development Corporation, is being built in collaboration with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), Ascendant Neighborhood Development, GF55 Architects, East Harlem Community Alliance, and Hester Street Collaborative.

Each building will feature green roofs and energy-efficient designs that meet Enterprise Green Communities standards. Amenities include laundry facilities, bike storage, secure lobbies, and rooftop terraces.

The development also includes a roughly 9,750-square-foot community facility at 1761 Park Avenue. The space will offer lower-cost retail for local businesses and serve as a hub for community organizations and social services.

Las Raices — Spanish for “the roots” — aims to maintain long-term affordability while providing housing and commercial resources to East Harlem residents. Construction is ongoing.

Lettire also recently announced work would be moving forward on Fordham Landing South — the first of a two-phase, affordable housing development — alongside partner Dynamic Star, LLC.

The project will bring 927 affordable homes, new public waterfront access, and a vibrant mixed-use community to the Harlem River.
