The City of Syracuse kicked off a new workshop series Thursday aimed at helping minority- and women-owned businesses gain greater access to city contracting opportunities.

“Let’s Do Business,” a series of hands-on workshops for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs).

The workshops are designed to help historically marginalized businesses grow and succeed. Participants will receive guidance on MWBE and SDVOB certification, learn how to leverage their certifications in City contracting, gain practical insights on doing business with the city, and share best practices with other vendors. Each session includes networking opportunities to build professional connections and explore new partnerships.

The series schedule includes:

  • Holiday Vendor Huddle and 2026 Kickoff: Nov. 6, 2025
  • Contracting & Coffee Small Vendor Roundtable: Jan. 8, 2026

All workshops will be held in the Garden Level Conference Room at One Park Place, 300 South State Street, Syracuse, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
