Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) BOCES has officially broken ground on a new 291,700-sq. ft. instructional campus in Wilton, designed to consolidate and expand career and technical education and special education programs for K–12 students.
The campus will feature three new instructional buildings, 44 career and technical education classrooms and specialty labs, 53 Exceptional Learners Division classrooms, gymnasiums, playgrounds, therapeutic spaces, and other facilities to support a wide range of student needs.
The project is part of WSWHE BOCES’ “Vision 2027” strategic plan, which emphasizes hands-on learning, modernized facilities, and alignment with workforce needs. The new campus will replace multiple existing sites, bringing programs currently spread across Saratoga Springs, Hudson Falls, and Glens Falls into a centralized location.
“Today marks an important milestone in our efforts to provide students with modern learning spaces that reflect the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s workforce,” said BOCES officials in a statement.
The site, located on 45.5 acres near I‑87 Exit 16, is expected to open in Fall 2027. Funding for the project includes a 20-year lease agreement through the Community Initiatives Development Corporation, a model chosen to balance cost-effectiveness and instructional needs.
The campus will allow BOCES to expand career and technical education offerings, including programs in trades and green energy, while alleviating capacity issues in the Exceptional Learners Division. Construction will proceed while existing programs continue at current sites.
