Los Angeles-based Tutor Perini Corporation says it has won two New York civil contracts worth $373.7 million.
The projects include:
CQ33 – Mid-Day Storage Yard for the East Side Access Project, New York/contract value: $291.5 million
Tutor Perini was awarded a contract by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the Mid-Day Storage Yard portion of the East Side Access Project. The Mid-Day Storage Yard Facility encompasses approximately 33 acres and spans 1.5 miles from west to east within the Harold Interlocking in Queens, New York.
The project scope of work includes demolition and removal of existing structures, railroad buildings and the Montauk Cutoff Bridge and ramp, and the construction of the Mid-Day Storage Yard, including excavation and grading of the yard, construction of retaining walls, duct banks, signal troughs and various structures, utilities, track work, pedestrian bridge and electrical substations. The work also includes installation and testing of the yard’s systems. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2017, with substantial completion expected in the third quarter of 2020.
Henry Hudson Bridge Design-Build Services, New York/expected contract value: $82.2 million
Tutor Perini is the selected proposer on a contract for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to provide design-build services for the Henry Hudson Bridge in New York City.
The project scope of work includes the installation of an alternate load path structural system utilizing high-capacity deep foundations, replacement of north and south viaduct concrete piers, replacement of north abutment pilaster concrete, bearing replacement, bridge drainage, site work and the installation and maintenance of a structural health monitoring system for the bridge.
Work is expected to begin in the spring of 2017, with substantial completion anticipated in the summer of 2020.
