Construction has officially begun on a 55-story condominium in Court Square, a project that will add 636 new residential units to one of Queens’ fastest-changing neighborhoods.
Developers Charney Companies and Tavros, in partnership with Incoco Capital, completed years of property assembly to prepare the site at 24-19 Jackson Avenue and 45-03 23rd Street. The project combines seven townhouses, additional air rights, and a 2022 parcel purchase from Toyoko Inn.
Architecture by FXCollaborative will include studios, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom residences, along with amenities, retail space featuring a grocery store, and a Chelsea Piers Fitness location in the podium. Construction is expected to run from June 2025 through spring 2028.
Court Square is a major transit hub, with access to the 7, G, E, M, N, and R subway lines, multiple bus routes, and nearby Long Island Rail Road service. The area also offers museums including MoMA PS1, parks, shopping, and restaurants.
Charney Companies announced the milestone on social media, saying the project “has officially broken ground” and called it a new chapter for “one of Queens’ most dynamic neighborhoods.” A post from the company quoted the development team as saying it had been “a journey of perseverance, hard work, and vision — supported by a world-class team.”
The formal name for the building has not yet been announced.
