Construction begins on mixed-use development in Jamaica, Queens

Construction has started on a mixed-use development in Jamaica, Queens.

The project, designed by architects Edelman Sultan Knox Wood, is being built at 92-23 168th St. between Jamaica and Archer Avenues at Dubbed Archer Green. The project will include residential, retail, commercial, and parking areas, according to New York YIMBY.

The development includes two residential towers that rise from a shared podium. The north tower will rise 23 stories, while the south tower will top out at 20 stories.

In total the project will contain 431,000 square feet including 380 affordable apartments, a 15,000-square-foot community facility, 68,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and cellar level parking areas.

Construction is expected to be completed by July 2020.
