Construction has officially started on The Rise at Collar City, a 52,000-sq. ft. mixed-use apartment building that will replace a vacant office building in downtown Troy.

Jankow Companies hosted a groundbreaking ceremony this week to celebrate the development, which will include 43 apartments and 3,500 sq. ft. of commercial space, an on-site fitness center, coworking space, off-street parking, full kitchen and game area, heated bike storage and a pet wash station.

Construction is expected to be complete in fall 2023. Northeastern Construction Services is the project’s general contractor and Pioneer Bank, which provided its funding.

The adaptive reuse project is the fourth apartment complex the Albany-based real estate development company is building in the area. The Rise at Pine Hills in Albany was completed in July 2021, and construction is set to finish at two other Albany locations – The Rise at Downtown in fall 2023 and The Rise at Midtown Square in fall 2024.
