L&L Holding Company, a New York City commercial real estate owner and developer, says it has appointed David Seth Orowitz as senior vice-president of development, effective May 1, after a previous stint with the Trump organization.
Orowitz will join L&L’s development team reporting to chairman and chief executive officer David Levinson and president and chief investment officer Robert Lapidus. In his new post, he will focus on the company’s ongoing development, redevelopment and acquisition efforts throughout Manhattan.
Prior to L&L, Orowitz served as senior vice-president, acquisitions and development at the Trump organization, where he managed all aspects of the investment process for the company’s hotel, residential, retail, and mixed-use properties, including the procurement and redevelopment of the Old Post Office in Washington, D.C. and the acquisition of the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami.
Previously, he worked as vice-president at Kaiser Associates in Washington, D.C., where he led a consulting practice selling and delivering strategy engagements to clients including Sprint, Pfizer, IBM, Comcast and General Mills.
The addition of Orowitz to L&L is the second new hire at the company in recent weeks. The news comes closely on the heels of the appointment of Adam Metzger in the company’s acquisitions department earlier in the month. Both hires expand the company’s capabilities and expertise in all phases of acquisition, development and leasing.
L&L says it has become widely known for its ability to find and execute Manhattan’s most high-profile and complex commercial development projects, including the new 425 Park Ave., which will be the first full-block office development to rise on the famed boulevard in half a century; the re-massing and redevelopment of 390 Madison Ave., an 850,000 sq. ft. office tower near Grand Central Station; and the retail repositioning of the landmarked lobby space at 195 Broadway, which is now home to Nobu Downtown.

Orowitz received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hamilton College and earned a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate with Honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
