DICK’S Sporting Goods, an omni-channel sporting goods retailer, plans to build its first-ever in-house e-commerce fulfillment center in Broome County.
The company plans to add a 245,000-sq.-ft. fulfillment center to its recently-opened distribution center in the Town of Conklin. The expansion will lead to the creation of new jobs, totaling more than 500 full-time jobs over the next five years, DICK’S said in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to expand our footprint in our company’s hometown of Binghamton, NY with the addition of our first-ever in-house eCommerce Fulfillment Center. It’s a proud moment for our entire company. We also want to thank everyone involved in this entire project for all their hard work in making both the Distribution Center and Fulfillment Center here in Binghamton become a reality and recognize the great partnership with New York State and Broome County governments. The work being done here is a great example of the public and private sectors partnering for the benefit of local communities,” said George Giacobbe, DICK’S Sporting Goods senior vice-president of supply chain.
The company did not disclose the project’s construction timeline.
