Willets Point in Queens is set to undergo a significant redevelopment, that will transform 23 acres of land into the largest 100 percent affordable housing development in 40 years along with 20,000 square feet of retail space, a 250-room hotel, and a 25,000-seat soccer stadium to be privately financed by the New York City Football Club (NYCFC).

The project is expected to create more than 14,000 construction jobs and over 1,500 permanent jobs and takes into account resiliency, with plans to raise new streets and buildings out of the 100-year floodplain.

The redevelopment will include 2,500 affordable housing units across seven buildings, including 220 units for low-income seniors. NYCFC’s new stadium will serve as the club’s permanent home and is expected to be fully operational by the 2027 MLS season.
