Construction employment increases in September: AGCA

The Associated General Contractors of America revealed in its latest report  the number of construction jobs on Long Island continued to rise in September compared with the previous year, the Long Island Business News reported.

Between September 2017 and September 2018, Nassau and Suffolk counties gained about 7,000 construction jobs — an eight percent rise for a total of about 89,700 people employed in construction here.

New York City saw a four percent rise in construction employment, gaining about 6,700 jobs from September 2017 and September 2018. Construction employment in the Orange-Rockland-Westchester area was also up five percent, adding about 1,900 jobs from September 2017 and September 2018, according to the AGCA.
