Politico reports that Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and the Building and Construction Trades Council have decided to put aside their differences and conflicts, to advance their “common interests” in growth friendly policies.

This alliance comes after years of conflict between the two organizations, “an historically rocky relationship fraught with numerous public fights, Politico reports.

The agreement signed on Nov. 4 “comes as REBNY is still reeling from a bruising state legislative session in which its sudden lack of sway shocked many in the industry. Meanwhile, the trades are fighting to maintain their own relevance as they negotiate their future in a city where non-union construction is expanding.”
