Cooperstown getting new animal shelter

The new Susquehanna SPCA building is one step closer to reality.

WKTV Channel 2 reports that construction has begun on the property located on Route 28 next to St. Mary’s cemetery. The new facility will be 10,000 and will ” meet the state requirements needed to be an official animal shelter.”

According to Channel 2, the project is estimated to cost $3,000,000.

An official ground breaking ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 24.
