Demolition applications have been filed for three four-story buildings a block north of Pennsylvania Station, in Midtown West, YIMBY reports. Vornado Realty Trust has requested permits to level the structures, at 267 West 34th St., 480 8th Ave., and 486 8th Ave.

The firm recently also purchased 265 West 34th St. for $28.5 million.

Overall, with the four lots combined, the allowable Floor Area Ratio (FAR) will total about 80,000 sq. ft. after demolition, enough to build a retail podium and hotel tower.

Vornado owns approximately nine million square feet around the Penn Station neighborhood. In June, the company purchased 144-150 West 34th St., a block away, for $355 million, YIMBY reports.

The demolition specialist is Howard I. Shapiro & Associates.
