JDS secures loan to build tallest building in Brooklyn

JDS Development Group has secured a $664.1 million construction loan to build the tallest building in Brooklyn. Situated at 9 DeKalb Ave. in the downtown district, the tower 73-story tower dubbed 9 DeKalb Tower will span 556,164 sq. ft.

The project is a partnership between JDS Development Group and Chetrit Group. Designed by SHoP Architects, the 1,066-feet tall tower will be the first building in the borough to hit quadruple digits in height and becoming the tallest tower in the 5 boroughs outside of Manhattan.

The building will feature retail space that seamlessly incorporates the Dime Savings Bank Building with new retail space at the base of the project’s tower. The tower will be clad in glass and bronze and will house over 500 residential units.
