RFP for offshore wind and land-based renewable projects coming Nov. 30

Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for offshore wind and land-based renewable projects will be released onNov. 30 and bids will be due in January 2024.

“For New York to continue to be a climate leader, we must be proactive in addressing the near-term challenges affecting the clean energy industry,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. “We remain committed in powering our state with affordable, zero-emission and reliable electricity.

“The release of this expedited and competitive solicitation process demonstrates our commitment to ensuring New York remains the place for the renewable energy industry to do business.”

For the offshore wind solicitation, final proposals will be due Jan. 25, 2024, with award announcements expected by the end of February.

For the land-based renewables solicitation, the process for submitting proposals will be conducted in two steps. The first (eligibility requirements) will be Dec. 21, 2023, and the second (final proposals) will be due Jan. 31, 2024. Award announcements are expected by the end of April 2024.
